Karrot, Copernicus, Ferly prep animation

Ferly and Popcorn Digital’s Momolu Minis

UK prodco Karrot Entertainment is partnering with Canada’s Copernicus Studios and Finland-based Ferly to produce an animated series exploring history.

Jade’s Jammies (26×11’) is set in a museum and follows the story of a young girl and her friend Raven who have the ability to jump into the world of any of the museum’s exhibits on account of her magic pyjamas. The series was created by Megan Price and Rufus Blacklock.

“By encouraging our young audience to question the origins of items in the world around them, we hope to light a spark that will begin a lifelong interest in history and museums,” said Jamie Badminton, creative director of Karrot Entertainment.

In related news, Ferly has partnered with Popcorn Digital, the digital arm of kids’ entertainment specialist Cake, to develop and launch content on YouTube.

Popcorn Digital will lead Ferly’s digital strategy, creating original animated content based on Ferly IP as well as launching and managing the company’s channels on YouTube.

Ferly (previously Kaiken Entertainment), whose team co-created Angry Birds, will work with Popcorn Digital on Momolu Minis, a new digital series based on the forthcoming 2D preschool animation brand Momolu & Friends. The show centres on a gentle, unassuming panda who stumbles into situations requiring his help.
