Kabo’s Cops land in Ukraine

Cops on the Block

Ukrainian network ICTV has picked up scripted comedy format Cops on the Block from French distributor Kabo International for local adaptation.

The format is from Kabo-owned Thalie Images and debuted on M6 in France in August 2016, claiming a 10% audience share in the country.

The show, which has been extended into a second season by M6, revolves around the antics of a police captain and his motley crew of cops as they try to enforce law and order in their town.

“ICTV was looking for a new, fresh hit in scripted comedy, and having successfully worked together in the past on other comedy formats, we felt Cops on the Block was the perfect format for our schedule and our audience,” said Anastasiya Reznikova, head of development of content for ICTV.

Arabelle Pouliot-Di Crescenzo, MD at Kabo International, described the show as “a fresh character-driven format that hits all the right universal comedic notes.”
