K-pop tween dramedy Gangnam Project finds raft of global buyers

Gangnam Project has found buyers around the world

Global streamer Netflix and Brazil’s Globo have acquired the first season of K-pop inspired tween dramedy series Gangnam Project.

Distributor Federation Kids & Family has announced further sales, with season two picked up by Australia’s ABC, Norway’s NRK and Super RTL for Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Both seasons one and two have been licenced by Dreamia in Portugal, RTS in Switzerland and EITB in Spain’s Basque country.

Gangnam Project (20×30’) is produced by Pillango Productions and Aircraft Pictures for co-commissioners CBC Kids in Canada and UK kids’ brand CBBC. Set in Korea, it tells the story of Hannah Shin (Julia Kim Caldwell) a spirited Canadian/Korean teen with dreams of becoming a K-pop star and connecting with her Korean heritage.
