Jupiter’s Wallach to run Fox unscripted

Former Jupiter Entertainment executive Allison Wallach has been hired to run Fox Entertainment’s in-house unscripted entertainment studio.

Wallach has been appointed executive VP, head of Fox Alternative Entertainment, the unscripted studio formed in 2019.

The announcement was made today by Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment and specials at Fox Entertainment, to whom Wallach will report.

The role is based in LA and will see Wallach identifying, developing and producing unscripted programming for the Fox broadcaster network and third-party platforms.

She will also oversee the studio’s growth as it builds its internal organisation and seeks out new talent and producers to expand its pipeline and portfolio in the unscripted arena, both at home and abroad.

When the new division was unveiled in May last year it brought production of Fox’s break-out format hit The Masked Singer in-house. It has since added spin-off The Masked Dancer to its slate and coproduces competition format Ultimate Tag.

Wallach joined Sky-owned Jupiter Entertainment in 2015 and was most recently its president prior to standing down in October. She was subsequently replaced by Patrick Reardon.

From 2010 to 2015, Wallach was an agent in United Talent Agency’s alternative television department, where she helped grow the agency’s international and cable television business.

Previously, she was senior VP of programming at BBC Worldwide Productions from 2008 to 2010 and VP of programming at Lifetime Television.

“From development to production to the agency side, Allison has worked in every facet of television and has a remarkable understanding of the business,” said Wade. “As FAE begins to grow, her knowledge and experience will help build and add value to this studio and take us to the next level.”
