Montreal-based producer and distributor Attraction has promoted Julie Normandin to VP, development and creation and Remi Aboussouan to VP of digital and communications.

Normandin, who was previously director of development, entertainment and documentary, has been with the company for more than a decade. In her expanded role, she will continue to be responsible for working with creatives and broadcasters to develop new projects.

Attraction, which produces shows including French-Canadian dating series Love is a Highway (Coeur de trucker) and the Quebecois version of Amazon’s LOL: Last One Laughing format, added that her “keen eye for viable formats” will be an important element of its plan to expand in English-speaking Canada and internationally.

Aboussouan, who has been with the company since 2016, most recently as general manager of digital and communications, will continue to focus on discoverability, monetisation and digital strategies in his expanded role.

In addition to leading the Attraction Numérique group, Aboussouan also oversees the digital strategy for Attraction’s various productions, in collaboration with the broadcasters.

Attraction president Richard Speer said Normandin has “carved out her place in recent years as a true industry leader.”
