JSC Republic TV’s Three Sisters set to be first Turkish drama adapted for Kazakh market

Three Sisters originated at Süreç Film

Kazakhstan public broadcaster JSC Republic TV and Radio Corporation is to develop a local-language adaptation of hit Turkish drama Three Sisters.

JSC has licensed the format rights from distributor Kanal D International, which claims it is the first time a Turkish scripted drama format will be adapted for the Kazakh market.

Originally produced by Süreç Film, Three Sisters (283×44’) is a family drama inspired by İclal Aydın’s novel. It follows the lives of siblings Türkan, Dönüş and Derya as they deal with unexpected challenges, heartbreaks and revelations.

Elif Tatoğlu, distribution strategy director at Kanal D International, said: “This format adaptation marks a new step in our long-standing relationship with Kazakh audiences and reaffirms the universal appeal of Turkish storytelling.”
