Jodi Huisentruit disappearance docuseries among true crime trio heading to Hulu from ABC News Studios

Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit

Hulu in the US will launch a trio of true crime docuseries made by ABC News Studios next month, including one about the unsolved disappearance of news anchor Jodi Huisentruit.

The two Disney-owned outfits have paired up to bring Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit, Trophy Wife: Murder on Safari and Mr & Mrs Murder to Hulu subscribers.

Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit will launch on July 15 and is produced by Committee Films and ABC News Studios for Hulu. This three-part docuseries explores the disappearance of Huisentruit in 1995, a case that remains unsolved 30 years on. The executive producers are Maria Awes and Andy Awes for Committee Films, alongside Eamon McNiff.

Three-part series Trophy Wife: Murder on Safari focuses on the mysterious death of Bianca Rudolph on an African hunting trip. It will launch on July 21 and is produced by XTR in Association with Rolling Stone Films and ABC News Studios for Hulu.

It is based on the Rolling Stone article Before the Dentist Knows You’re Dead by Matt Sullivan, who also serves as executive producer alongside Dani Sloane, Erin Lee Carr, Matthew Cherchio, Kathleen Flood, Justin Lacob and Bryn Mooser, Jason Fine, Gus Wenner, Alexandra Dale and Claire Weinraub.

Mr & Mrs Murder, meanwhile, arrives on July 30 and is about the murder of Mike Williams, a Baptist from Florida who was originally thought to have been eaten by alligators. The four-part docuseries is produced by Plum Pictures and ABC News Studios for Hulu. The executive producers are Michael Beach Nichols, Stuart Cabb, Tom Pearson and Beth Hoppe.

David Sloan serves as senior executive producer for ABC News Studios on all three titles.

The new docuseries add to Hulu’s line-up of streaming titles such as seasons one and two of Betrayal, The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer, Daughters of the Cult and Little Miss Innocent: Passion. Poison. Prison.
