Jetpack looks to Beat the World at MipTV

Unusual kids’ sports format A Week to Beat the World

UK distributor Jetpack has taken rights to CBBC and Rumpus Media’s sports format A Week to Beat the World and will launch it at MipTV next month.

The 30-part series, presented by Karim Zeroual and comedian Camille Ucan, began airing in the UK last year.

It sees young sports stars travel around the world to see if they can compete in some of the toughest and most unusual sports on the planet.

Each week focuses on one of two teams of kids – either the girls or the boys – in a different country and immersed in a new sport and culture.

Some of the sports in the series include Mongolian horse riding, lion dancing in Malaysia, capoeira in Brazil, sumo in Japan and the Maasai games in Kenya.

Dominic Gardiner, CEO of Jetpack Distribution, said: “Taking kids who are top of their sporting game to such vastly different countries to learn and compete in new native sports is an inspiring idea for young audiences.”
