Jane Root’s Nutopia hires National Geographic alum Geoff Daniels

US- and UK-based factual prodco Nutopia has brought former National Geographic executive Geoff Daniels on board as executive VP of unscripted entertainment.

Daniels spent more than 20 years at National Geographic, latterly as exec VP of global unscripted entertainment, until his departure in February. Prior to that he launched and led Nat Geo Wild.

Nutopia has previously worked with Nat Geo on projects including The World According to Jeff Golblum and Darren Aronovsky’s One Strange Rock.

Daniels will work across all series in production, manage programme marketing and help to liaise with Nutopia’s key production partners and talent. He will be based in the US and report to Nutopia’s founder and CEO, Jane Root.
