Jambika, which launched at the start of the year, is also strengthening its slate by picking up Melbourne International Film Festival Audience Award-winning documentary Left Write Hook, which is available on Netflix in Australia and New Zealand.

Directed by Shannon Owen and produced by Gal Greenspan and Rachel Forbes, Left Write Hook follows eight survivors of childhood sexual abuse who embark on a transformative journey through a writing and boxing programme led by the film’s producer and participant Dr Donna Lyon.

Arbuthnot brings more than 15 years of industry experience across scripted and documentary formats after a career spanning roles at broadcasters and production companies including SBS, the BBC, Channel 4, PolyGram Films, Nickelodeon, Foxtel and EQ Media.

A former investment and development manager at Screen Australia, he has also worked as a producer, including on feature documentary Her Name Is Nanny Nellie, and as a line producer on Stuff The British Stole season two, and is a current board member of the Australian International Documentary Conference.

“I’m thrilled to join Jambika Docs and bring Left Write Hook on to our slate,” said Andrew Arbuthnot. “This film exemplifies the kind of urgent, emotionally resonant storytelling that Jambika is committed to championing on the global stage.”
