European production group Fremantle has appointed ITV commissioner Nicola Lloyd as creative director at its UK-based production company Naked.

Reporting to Naked MD, Tom O’Brien, Lloyd’s appointment marks her return to production after eight years as a factual entertainment commissioner at ITV.
During her time at the UK commercial broadcaster, she managed a slate of popular factual and entertainment programming including the Gordon, Gino and Fred brand; five seasons of the travelogue Bradley and Barney: Breaking Dad; and the reimagined entertainment format, The Games.
Lloyd also oversaw documentaries including science series Planet Child; the food travel series, Gino’s Italy; and the access driven Inside the Ritz and was responsible for several high-profile projects on ITVX including TikTok: Murder Gone Viral; The British Airways Killer; The Other Mrs Jordan; and exposé, Belle Gibson: Instagram’s Worst Con Artist.
Before joining ITV, Lloyd worked at Twenty-Twenty as exec producer on BAFTA-winning First Dates; Celebrity First Dates; and First Dates Hotel. Other production credits include Ramsay’s Costa Del Nightmares for Optomen and What Happens in Kavos for Dragonfly.
O’Brien was appointed MD of Naked last year, succeeding Fatima Salaria.
O’Brien said: “Nicola is an exceptional creative talent – a stock-picker and builder of big, original and eye-catching ideas. Naked will benefit hugely from her experience, wisdom and drive to entertain our audiences, as she works closely alongside the senior team here.”
Nicola Lloyd adds: “I am thrilled to be joining Naked as creative director and to work alongside such a talented team. Naked has an impressive slate and a strong reputation for creating bold, distinctive content. With my passion for unscripted programming, I’m looking forward to getting back into production and contributing to this next exciting chapter.”
Naked’s current and recent productions include Buying London (Netflix), The Apprentice (BBC One), Grand Designs (Channel 4), BAFTA-nominated The Rap Game UK (BBC Three), Charlie Cooper’s Myth Country (BBC Three) and Tonight with Target (BBC Three).
The appointment comes at a time of some upheaval at Fremantle which recently re-merged its Talkback and Thames outfits following the departure of Jonno Richards, lost VP of unscripted Angela Neillis, and saw the departure of senior execs Kate Harwood, Noemi Spanos and Mandy Chang as it shuttered its Euston Films business.
