ITN visual podcast Talking Royals taken to 15-part linear series by ITV

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned ITV News (ITN)’s visual podcast about the royal family, Talking Royals, as a 15-part series for its linear channel and streamer ITVX.

ITN currently produces the Talking Royals ‘vodcast’ for YouTube and podcast platforms. This is the first time ITV has commissioned an ITN visual podcast for television.

Every Sunday, newsreader Charlene White will be joined by ITN royal editor Chris Ship, ITN royal expert Lizzie Robinson and a host of guests as they go behind the royal headlines with discussion and expert analysis.

It will debut on Sunday September 21 at 12.30 on ITV1 and ITVX. Ed Saunt is exec producer, while Katie Robertson is producer, Rob Owers is series producer and Justyna Barlow is director.

In separate news, ITV has commissioned a second season of I’m a Celebrity… South Africa. The spin-off to I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! sees previous contestants from the original format return to the jungle for a second time.

Coproduced by ITV Studios’ Lifted Entertainment and Mitre Studios, the second season will debut on ITV1 and ITVX in 2026. ITV Studios handles international distribution.
