ITV2 prepares for Apocalypse Wow

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a new physical gameshow format for its ITV2 network produced by Lego Masters creator Tuesday’s Child.

Set in a secret underground club, part-BDSM dungeon, part Fight Club, Apocalypse Wow is hosted by AJ Odudu alongside Hey Tracey’s Donna Preston as The Mistress.

In each episode, five celebrities enter the ‘torture dome’ to take on The Mistress’s terrifying Superhuman ‘Bosses,’ such as Master Enormo (one of the world’s strongest men), The Horn Hunter (a back-flipping parkour master), Hot Slippy Jesus (the UK’s number one gravy wrestler), The Mermaid and more.

The celebs must unite in a bid to defeat these extraordinary opponents, taking them on in a series of physical challenges.

Celebrities already confirmed include Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt, Love Island’s Chris Hughes and comedian Karim Zeroual.

The series was commissioned by ITV’s Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels and acquisitions, and Peter Tierney, commissioning editor of entertainment for ITV. The exec producer is Tuesday’s Child’s Steph Harris.
