ITV visits London Zoo in lockdown

London Zoo: An Extraordinary Year

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a two-part documentary that looks behind the scenes at London Zoo during the coronavirus lockdown.

London Zoo: An Extraordinary Year (working title) is being produced by UK indies Circle Circle Films and October Films.

The 2×60’ show will explore how the staff and animals at the zoo, and its sister zoo at Whipsnade, are adapting to the lockdown and caring for more than 500 species.

The series was commissioned for ITV by Jo Clinton-Davis, controller of factual, and Sue Murphy, head of factual entertainment.
