ITV to follow Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as guest editor of Country Life magazine

ITV has commissioned a one-off documentary following Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and future Queen Consort, as she oversees a special edition of British magazine Country Life.

Camilla’s Country Life (1×60′, working title) comes from Spun Gold TV and will also follow the Duchess as she performs her regular royal duties, with the documentary makers securing exclusive access.

The Duchess is taking charge of the a special issue of Country Life, which is now in its 125th year, to mark her 75th birthday in July. She is following in the footsteps of her husband, Prince Charles, who has twice guest-edited the magazine.

Directed by Michael Waldman (Inside the Foreign Office), the programme is being produced by Ross Curran and executive produced by Nick Bullen. It was commissioned for ITV by Jo Clinton-Davis, controller of factual. All3Media International has worldwide distribution rights.

Camilla’s Country Life joins other royal-themed content produced by Spun Gold such as The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration, The Prince’s Master Crafters: The Next Generation, Ancient Secrets of Althorp: Charles Spencer and Diana’s Decades.

Clinton-Davis said: “This film presents a unique opportunity to gain an insight into the Duchess of Cornwall, at close quarters, immersed within her personal passions and engaged with some of those closest to her.”
