ITV Studios plays for High Stakes

The US production arm of ITV Studios (ITVS) has created its first programme for UK sister network ITV1.

America High Stakes (7×60′) is one of three new formats that will be sold worldwide through ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

Holding Out For a Hero (7×60′) and Born to Shine (5×60’/1×90′) have also been commissioned by ITVS, which has also coproduced a US remake of British crime drama Prime Suspect, expected to air on NBC later this year.

America High Stakes is a studio-based gameshow filmed on a giant LED grid, with contestants earning more money the further they get.

Quizshow Holding Out, from 12 Yard Productions, see contestants play to win tens of thousands of pounds, not for them but for someone else. It is likely to be broadcast in the UK this autumn.

Meanwhile, Born to Shine is a collaboration between ITVS and UK charity Save the Children. The format, where youngsters must teach celebrities a new skill before they perform in a live show, has been picked-up for primetime on ITV1 this summer.
