ITV Studios launches Signpost Entertainment as part of MultiStory Media

Signpost Productions produces Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes for the BBC

The network production arm of UK broadcaster ITV’s Signpost Productions is joining ITV Studios, where it will be housed within MultiStory Media under the new banner of Signpost Entertainment.

Diversity-focused Signpost Productions, which is based in the north-east of England, is behind shows including Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes for the BBC and Deaf Away Days for TNT Sports.

Signpost Entertainment will remain focused on diversity and inclusion in its productions and will be led by creative director Gareth Deighan, reporting to MultiStory Media’s CEO Tim Carter and chief creative officer Ana de Moraes. The two labels will work together to “target opportunities that combine diverse storytelling and scaled-up production.”

Signpost Productions will remain part of ITV and will continue to produce This is Deaf for the British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust and its regular inserts for the BBC’s The One Show. It will also continue to provide on-screen British sign language translations for broadcasters and run its production and post-production facilities in Gateshead and Leeds.

Signpost Productions and Signpost Entertainment will work together on growing and developing a pipeline of diverse talent via the latter’s training arm under the Signpost Academy.

MultiStory Media’s Carter said: “Our shared ambition is to put on-screen disability and off-screen accessibility at the heart of our productions, producing shows that authentically, joyously and effortlessly entertain broad audiences.”

MultiStory Media produces entertainment and factual shows including Come Dine with Me, For the Love of Dogs and The Martin Lewis Money Show, as well as current affairs shows such as Tonight and Peston.
