ITV Studios Iberia appoints MediaCrest’s Hugo Tomás as exec producer of unscripted

ITV Studios Iberia has hired MediaCrest exec Hugo Tomás as exec producer of unscripted programmes.

Tomás will join on September 1 from MediaCrest, where he has been head of entertainment for four years, overseeing productions including ITV Studios’ The Chase and Beat the Chasers for TVE, Mapi for TVE and The Floor for Antena 3.

In his new role, Tomás will lead ITV Studios’ international reality, factual, dating and gameshow formats, such as Come Dine with Me, Love Island and The Chase. He will also develop local originals, working closely with creative director Miguel Vila.

Tomás’s career in entertainment spans 25 years, with international franchise credits in Spain including Temptation Island and Secret Millionaire, as well as developing local IP.

He also worked for Shine Iberia for four years, directing four seasons of MasterChef and Junior MasterChef, Masters of Sewing (based on The Great British Sewing Bee) and One, Two, Chef! for Disney+.
