ITV Studios’ 5 Acts Productions to adapt Clare Mackintosh novel The Last Party

5 Acts Productions, the ITV Studios label launched last year by David P Davis, has optioned the rights to British author Clare Mackintosh’s upcoming thriller The Last Party.

The Last Party, which is the first in a planned book series, launches in hardback on August 4 and the deal to adapt the book is the first major content move for Cardiff-based 5 Acts Productions.

The Last Party follows a detective as she investigates the murder of a man building controversial holiday homes in a coastal Welsh town who is found dead floating in the water on New Year’s Day, the morning after a party that brought together the feuding community.

Davis said: “From the very first page I was totally hooked on The Last Party. For me, it’s the perfect alchemy of great characters, a glorious setting and wonderfully crafted intrigue. Clare has written a novel perfectly suited for dramatisation.”
