ITV orders West Road Pictures thriller

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a four-part thriller from All3Media’s scripted label West Road Pictures.

Written by Sophie Petzal (Blood, Riviera), Hollington Drive focuses on the lives of two sisters, Theresa and Helen. One summer the sisters’ families are spending an evening together, during which time Theresa’s son Ben and his cousin Eva go to the nearby park.

The children don’t return home when expected and when Teresa goes looking for them, she finds them fighting. Later, it is revealed the neighbour’s 10-year-old son has gone missing, leading to speculation that Ben and Eva could have been involved in his disappearance.

Filming of the series will begin later this year. All3Media International will distribute internationally.

“It’s a beautifully written thriller that looks at maternal love and sisterly love, in a story that will compel and surprise the audience,” said ITV’s head of drama Polly Hill.

Petzal added: “This is a tense, complex, darkly funny thriller following two sisters caught up in a toxic and deadly secret.”
