ITV launches British Ade effort

Comedian and actor Adrian Edmondson is touring the UK in a new daytime series for commercial broadcaster ITV.

Ade in Britain, produced by ITV Studios-owned Shiver, follows the Bottom and Young Ones star as he tours the country, meeting people responsible for maintaining the food, drink and traditions that make each area so distinct.

The 20-part show is a follow up to the comedian’s appearance in ITV1’s The Dales earlier this year, in which he explored life in Yorkshire.

It is due to begin on Monday, November 7 and will be stripped on weekdays over a four-week period.

Ade in Britain is produced by Debra Prinselaar and executive produced by Sally Evans for Shiver, who was also behind The Dales.

It was commissioned by Alison Sharman, ITV director of factual and daytime, and Diana Howie, ITV commissioning editor, factual and daytime for ITV1.

Ade in Britain is ITV’s latest talent-driven travelogue show, following titles including Billy Connolly’s Route 66 and Joanna Lumley’s Greek Odyssey.
