ITV heads to pawn shop with Twofour

Million Pound Pawn is being made by Twofour

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a three-part factual series looking at the emotional and financial stakes at play in the world of pawnbroking.

Million Pound Pawn (3×60’) is being produced by ITV Studios-owned Twofour. The show will tell heartwarming stories and highlight an array of assets pawned in times of financial uncertainty, according to its producers.

Britain’s pawnbrokers buy, sell and loan against over a £1m (US$1.39m) worth of assets a year, from helicopters to houseboats and designer watches to the family jewels.

Million Pound Pawn was ordered by ITV commissioning editor Satmohan Panesar. The exec producers are David Clews and Nic Patten, with Naomi Templeton series producing.
