ITV factual chief Sharman leaves

The director of factual and daytime at UK terrestrial ITV is to leave her post at the end of the month as part of a reorganisation of the commissioning team.

Alison Sharman

Alison Sharman, who has held the role since 2006, is leaving the broadcaster and handing over her responsibilities in the interim to Jo Clinton-Davis, who is currently controller of popular factual.

A statement from the broadcaster said the move was the start of a restructure of the factual and daytime commissioning team.

During her seven years at ITV – prior to which she was with the BBC – Sharman commissioned Long Lost Family, Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs, and Britain’s Secret Treasures among others.

Sharman is the latest high profile exit from ITV this year, following drama chiefs Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes, who are setting up their own prodco with backing from Boom Pictures.
