ITV commissions Ghislaine Maxwell documentary from Fremantle ahead of trial

Ghislaine Maxwell with Jeffrey Epstein

UK broadcaster ITV has ordered a documentary film about Ghislaine Maxwell, the imprisoned socialite and former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, from Fremantle.

The doc will feature new interviews with key figures at the centre of the allegations of abuse surrounding Maxwell and her relationship with convicted sex offender Epstein, who died in prison in 2019, including alleged victims and Maxwell’s siblings.

The film will cover Maxwell’s imminent trial and examine how a woman who mixed in elite circles in the UK and US ended up accused of being embroiled in a world of sex trafficking and grooming.

Provisionally titled Ghislaine, the documentary also features interviews with staff, friends, lawyers and investigators.

Exec producing are Yvonne Alexander and Fatima Salaria for Fremantle UK. Fremantle holds the international distribution rights to the doc.

The doc was commissioned by ITV head of factual entertainment Sue Murphy and commissioning editor for factual entertainment Nicola Lloyd.
