ITV, BritBox commission mystery thriller from Nicola Shindler’s Quay Street

UK commercial broadcaster ITV and streamer BritBox have commissioned a mystery thriller series from Nicola Shindler’s Quay Street Productions.

After the Flood (6×60’) begins shooting this month and is made by Quay Street in association with ITV Studios and coproduction partner BritBox International.

It stars Sophie Rundle (Gentleman Jack, Peaky Blinders) as a police officer investigating a man’s death after devastating floods in a small town. Life On Mars actor Philip Glenister also stars.

“We were immediately drawn in,” said Quay Street executive producers Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee in a joint statement. “Not just by the catastrophic repercussions of a deadly environmental disaster, but also the intricacies and deception at the heart of the characters’ stories.”

It will premiere on ITV and its streamer ITVX in the UK and on BritBox in the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa and the Nordics. International distribution is being handled by ITV Studios.

The series was commissioned by ITV head of drama Polly Hill.
