ITV bomb disposal drama Trigger Point sets off Peacock, CBC, HBO sales

NBCUniversal-owned streaming service Peacock in the US is among a raft of international buyers to have acquired ITV bomb disposal drama  Trigger Point, starring Vicky McClure.

The six-parter, produced by Jed Mercurio’s HTM Television in association with All3Media International, was also picked up by Canadian public broadcaster CBC and HBO Latin America in a pan-territory deal.

In addition, the first season was acquired by Pumpkin Film (China), Wowow (Japan), OSN (Middle East) and TVNZ (New Zealand). In Asia, BBC Studios picked up the show for SVoD service BBC First. In Europe, the show was acquired by CMore for Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. A deal has also been signed with NPO in the Netherlands and Spain’s Movistar+.

Starring McClure (Line of Duty, This is England) and Adrian Lester (Life, Trauma), the project follows bomb disposal experts who must risk their lives during a terrorist campaign in the heart of London.

The deals were brokered by UK-based distributor All3Media International, which is handling international distribution. In the US, the show will make its debut on Peacock on July 8.

Jed Mercurio, who co-owns HTM Television with Hat Trick Productions, is executive producer on Trigger Point alongside Jimmy Mulville, Mark Redhead and Jessica Sharkey, with Julia Stannard producing. The show, written by screenwriting newcomer Daniel Brierley was renewed for a second season in February.
