Italian producer Blu Yazmine developing Dori Media and Abot Hameiri gameshow format

Dori Media Group and Abot Hameiri’s The Auction

MIPCOM: The Auction, a new format from Israel’s Dori Media Group and Abot Hameiri, is getting an Italian version from producer Blu Yazmine.

The show, which successfully debuted on América Televisión in Peru earlier this summer, is now headed to Italy after producer Blu Yazmine acquired local rights.

Blu Yazmine has produced global formats including The Floor, Tempting Fortune, Red Carpet Survival, Cash or Trash and Flat Hunters.

Dori Media and Abot Hameiri, in collaboration with América Televisión, produced the first season of The Auction (known locally as La Subasta), which became the number one show in its prime-time slot in Peru on América Televisión during the summer and into the fall.

The show sees two families compete without knowing what’s inside the mysterious boxes, relying only on bizarre AI-generated clues that get funnier and more absurd as the bidding intensifies. Each team uses an equal budget to try and acquire prizes with the highest real-world value.

Dori Media Group has also licensed its unscripted format Intuition to Portugal’s TVI, where the series will make its European debut in December. TVI has ordered 20 episodes of the game show, which was created by Dori Media and Oded Menashe, who also created the international hit series Smart Face.

Earlier this month, Dori Media Group announced it has signed leading Argentine production companies Kuarzo Entertainment Group and StoryLab to represent their scripted programming catalogues globally. Dori Media will begin representing both Kuarzo and StoryLab scripted content immediately as the company’s head to Mipcom in Cannes this week.
