Italian nets including Sky and Discovery shop for unscripted at Beyond Rights

Flipping Bangers is among the Beyond Rights titles acquired by Discovery in Italy

Italian broadcasters including Sky Italia and Discovery Italy have acquired a. total of 518 hours of unscripted programming from UK-based distributor Beyond Rights.

Sky Italia has acquired 290 hours of property and lifestyle franchise Love It or List It, including four seasons from the original series on Channel 4 in the UK and seasons from the Vancouver, Quebec and Australia versions.

Discovery Italy, meanwhile, has bought a 103-hour, multi-genre package that includes true crime shows such as seasons one and two (23×60’) of Fatal Vows and season five (19×50’) of Deadly Women. Shows from other genres include season three (10×60’) of Massive Engineering Mistakes, season three (12×60’) of auto show Flipping Bangers and observational docuseries Giant Lobster Hunters (10×60’).

Elsewhere, Cairo Communication-owned Italian channel La7 has acquired topical documentary The Prince & the Paedophile (1×60’), which examines the friendship between Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein, while A+E Networks Italy has picked up season six (11×60’) and season seven (8×60’) of Forbidden History.

Lastly, new Italian digital channel Got Game, which is focused on gaming and launched earlier this year, has acquired 105 hours of science and tech programming including Myth or Science (6×60’), How Hacks Work (30×30’) and Superhuman Science (13×30’).
