Isolani, Nexus raise The Baker’s Son

The Baker’s Son is set in Antwerp

Paris-based production house Isolani Pictures has linked up with Belgium’s Nexus Factory for second drama coproduction.

The two prodcos will produce eight-part series The Baker’s Son, set in the Belgian city of Antwerp.

It follows a young man caught up in a world of competing drug cartels and conflicts over race and religion, which sees him become both a victim and perpetrator due to the sins of his father.

English-born, France-based Ahsan Naeem has signed up to the project as lead writer, along with Flemish author Wim Reygaert, whose credits include TV dramas Omerta, Agathe and Connie & Clyde.

Isolani announced its debut project, Rare, in March The high-concept sci-fi series is being co-developed with Dramacorp, the Stockholm-based production company founded last year by Patrick Nebout.
