The competition show will feature new dancers every week, isolated in their own pods, who have to learn a routine and then perform it with their own unique twist for a live audience.

Shakira will be part of the judging panel, but in a move that echoes the social media slant of the show, the studio audience will decide the ultimate winner.

Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio group, will produce along with Irwin Entertainment.

The latter’s president, John Irwin, Dave Kuba, Eli Frankel and Ben Thursby-Palmer are executive producing for the company, while Jaime Levine also exec produces alongside Shakira.

Dancing with Myself is licensed by NBCUniversal Formats, part of Universal Studio Group.

Other competition series on NBC include America’s Got Talent and The Voice, which used to feature Shakira as a judge.
