Ireland’s Virgin tries Generation Dating series

Generation Dating won funding from the Broadcast Authority of Ireland

Virgin Media Television in Ireland has commissioned a full season of relationship format Generation Dating.

Generation Dating initially aired as a pilot on Virgin Media Television in the first quarter of 2020 and, following critical and ratings success, was given funding by the Broadcast Authority of Ireland to continue.

The series sees two strangers, one younger and one older, become each other’s matchmaker. In each episode, one pair get to know each other before finding the other a match and planning a unique date experience for them, complete with a makeover.

The show is produced by Dublin-based Coco Content and is distributed globally by A+E Networks International

Bill Malone, director of content at Virgin Media Television, said: “Generation Dating is a unique and uplifting show that really strikes a chord with young and old alike. As an authentic, cross-generational format, it has really resonated with audiences and we are delighted to bring this to full series commission.”
