Investor group buys Dick Clark prodco

An investment group including Mandalay Entertainment chief exec Peter Guber has acquired the Golden Globes Awards producer Dick Clark Productions.

The group, lead by Guggenheim Partners and also comprising US network series producer Mandalay and producer Allan Shapiro’s Mosaic Media Investment Partners, has paid RedZone Capital Management an undisclosed amount for the company, which also coproduces So You Think You Can Dance and New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

Guggenheim Partners president Todd Boehly said: “We look forward to continuing DCP’s production of branded entertainment that has become a part of the American lexicon. We plan to work closely with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Academy of Country Music and all of the network partners and sponsors to ensure DCP’s long-term growth and success.”

The deal is subject to regulatory approval and closing conditions.
