Broadcasters in Asia, Australia and Europe have picked up UK broadcaster ITV’s psychological thriller series Too Close.

Produced by Snowed-In Productions and distributed by All3Media International, Too Close is a three-part drama based on Clara Salaman’s novel of the same name.

The plot follows the unfolding relationship between a forensic psychiatrist and her patient, as the former seeks to find an explanation for the shocking actions of the latter prior to trial.

In Europe, Too Close has been picked up by NPO in the Netherlands, YLE in Finland, DR in Denmark, VRT in Flemish Belgium and Nova TV in Greece and Cyprus, while HBO Central Europe has picked up the rights for countries in Central Europe and the Balkans.

Elsewhere, BBC Studios ANZ has secured the rights for Australia and New Zealand, while BBC Studios Asia has also acquired the series for Asian SVoD service BBC First.

The latest acquisitions follow a recently announced deal with AMC Networks, via which Too Close will launch exclusively in the US as an AMC+ original this month. The drama will be available on the AMC+ streaming service in the US, Canada, South America (excluding Brazil), Central America, Portugal and Spain later this year.
