International networks show strong demand for factual from Bomanbridge Media

Seventh Art doc My Childhood, My Country – 20 Years in Afghanistan

Broadcasters including CBC in Canada, Disney in Latin America, BBC Asia and NHK in Japan have acquired factual programming from Singapore-based producer and distributor Bomanbridge Media.

The titles in the deals include My Childhood, My Country: 20 Years in Afghanistan, which was picked up by CBC in Canada, Disney in Latin America and Rialto Channel in New Zealand; and Through the Seasons: China, acquired by BBC Studios in Asia and TVB in Hong Kong.

Discovery Asia has also acquired natural history shows The Great Whale Rescue, Wild Latam and Wild Dynasties, with the latter also picked up by Thai Public Broadcasting, RTHK in Hong Kong and EBS in South Korea. CCTV in China acquired a package of titles including Wild Kingdom, Trimates, Secret World of Your Rubbish and Egypt from Above.

Japan’s NHK has licensed special Christmas documentary A Baby Reindeer’s First Christmas, Wild & Wonderful Denmark and Ghost Killers, with the latter two docs also being picked up by Thai Public Broadcasting and CCTV in China. Wild & Wonderful Denmark was also acquired by PTS in Taiwan.

Truevision in Thailand has licensed a 60-hour package including Good with Wood, Animal Ambulance and fitness series Strong by NM. TVNZ in New Zealand, SBS in Australia and Canal+ in Poland also acquired food and travel series Paul Goes to Hollywood.
