Insight TV, CCTV link for docuseries about 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics athletes

Wintergold will follow six athletes preparing for the next Winter Olympics

MIPCOM: Netherlands-based millennial-focused network Insight TV has joined forces with Chinese state broadcaster China Central Television’s documentary channel CCTV-9 to coproduce a docuseries that follows athletes preparing for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Winter Gold was unveiled at Mipcom in Cannes today and will give an intimate portrait of leading international athletes as they prepare for the biggest challenge of their lives across several events.

Mexican figure skater Donovan Carrillo, American alpine skier Alice Merryweather and Russian ice hockey player Mikhail Sergachev are among the athletes featuring in the 6×50’ series.

Arun Maljaars, Insight TV’s VP of content and channels, said: “Winter Gold marks our first coproduction in China and one of our most exciting series to date, as there are few bigger projects to chronicle than the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

“This seminal documentary series will track the journey of six incredible athletes, blending intimate storytelling with outstanding production values.”
