India’s Toonz gets Riki’s PinCode

Kikoriki

International buyers including Indian streamer Toonz Media Networks bought content from Russian animation studio Riki Group at last week’s digital version of MipTV.

Toonz Media Networks picked up the AVoD rights to Kikoriki and spin-off series PinCode, both of which will be available on its MyToonz platform in India, Africa, Latin America, the US and Spain.

The shows have previously been sold into China, Brazil and Catalunya, as well as to US Hispanic media company Condista.

P Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, said: “I am sure that our young audience across the world will love watching these shows and I hope that this is only the beginning of a long partnership with Riki for content licensing and syndication.”

Kikoriki and PinCode were also acquired by online safety group Common Sense Network (CSN), which is launching an AVoD platform called Sensical this quarter. In addition, CSN picked up BabyRiki, the third season of which also sold to Brazil’s Globosat last week.

Greek and Cypriot channel Smile TV bought exclusive rights to PinCode and non-exclusive rights to Panda and Krash, another show that was picked up by Globosat earlier last week.

Italian network Deagostini bought exclusive domestic premiere rights to Tina & Tony, which was also picked up by broadcaster TiJi for Russia, CIS and Israel, Romania’s Tralala and North American streaming platform Kidoodle TV. Deagostini will also develop the show in Italian-speaking Switzerland, Malta, Monte Carlo, San Marino and the Vatican State.

Finally, Riki also shopped Dino City last week, with France’s Piwi+ and Greek pubcaster ERT picking up the show.
