Inclusivity-themed food format Atypical Critics on the menu for Banijay Entertainment

Atypical Critics is a culinary-themed factual-entertainment show

Banijay Entertainment has acquired the global format rights to culinary-themed factual-entertainment show, Atypical Critics.

Originally created, developed and produced in French-speaking Canada by Montreal-based prodoc Pixcom (MasterChef Quebec) for AMI-télé, it features autistic food critics who bring their distinctive perspective to the world of gastronomy.

In each episode, they offer unfiltered feedback on three-course meals prepared by renowned chefs.

Helen Greatorex, head of format acquisitions, Banijay Entertainment, said: “This format not only expands our portfolio with a fresh, inclusive take on the genre, complementing our successful food offering of hits like MasterChef, but also encourages important conversation about representation and inclusion.

“We believe this show has the potential to entertain audiences in multiple markets and spark meaningful conversations about neurodiverse perspectives.”
