Montreal-based production and distribution company Incendo was a copro partner on series including Canal+/Super Channel historical drama Versailles and Clean Sweep for RTÉ and Sundance Now.

But the business is also known for a string of TV movies, especially romantic comedies but latterly horror too, and has recently signed a deal with youth-skewing audio outfit Meet Cute to adapt some of its titles for the small screen.

Incendo head of development and production Graham Ludlow spoke with Jordan Pinto about whether TV movies are insulated from broader industry contraction, how they’re being tweaked to reach younger viewers, and the way financing projects is changing.
