Imago TV’s Kirstin Benthaus-Gebauer to take over as MD at Tower Productions

Kirstin Benthaus-Gebauer has been appointed MD of All3Media-owned Germany production company Tower Productions, joining from rival Imago TV Film- und Fernsehproduktion.

When she takes up the role at the beginning of April, Benthaus-Gebauer will bring almost 30 years of industry experience to Tower. She will replace Dietlinde Stroh who left earlier this year.

Benthaus-Gebauer spent over 10 years in various roles at Imago TV Film- und Fernsehproduktion, developing and producing a variety of formats. She was most recently creative director.

From 2011 to 2014, she worked as chief executive producer at Germany’s StoryHouse Productions in reality, people and factual entertainment.

Benthaus-Gebauer has held other executive positions including at South&Browse, and she also worked independently for many years as a producer and filmmaker, creating a variety of formats for a range of broadcasters including ProSieben, Vox and RTLII.

Tower produces established formats in Germany including Undercover Boss (RTL) and Das Große Backen (Sat.1) as well as documentaries Unforgettable – Our Choir for People with Dementia (ZDF) and Me, Simply Unemployable? (Vox). The company also has exclusive access to the international format catalogue of All3Media International.
