ID returns to Disappeared

Investigation Discovery has ordered a seventh season of missing persons series Disappeared following a three-year hiatus.

The show is produced by NBC News’ production arm Peacock Productions, with each episode taking viewers inside the world of a family holding out hope that their missing loved one will be found.

Each episode contains cinematic recreations and interviews with families, friends and law enforcement to paint the picture of a missing person’s last known whereabouts.

The 10-part seventh season premieres April 11 and is returning after debuting in February 2010. It ran for five seasons ending in April 2013, followed by a series of specials in 2014 and 2015, and is now returning after ‘impassioned requests from viewers,’ according to ID.

Kevin Bennett, general manager of ID, said after “listening to their outcry to cover more cases, we realised that Disappeared isn’t just a part of ID’s DNA but it’s also an important tool to help families and law enforcement bring much needed attention to heart-breaking cold cases.”
