ICM buys Headline

Hollywood talent agency ICM Partners has acquired Headline Media Management (HMM), a boutique firm repping anchors, reporters and hosts in the broadcast space.

Lou Oppenheim, HMM’s CEO, and Michael Glantz, the acquired agency’s president, will both join ICM as partners. Oppenheim will lead ICM’s new broadcasting department, and Glantz will oversee the news and programming efforts within the department.

HMM’s clients include Wolf Blitzer, Savannah Guthrie, Chris Berman, Mike Golic and Kevin Harlan, and will help extend ICM’s reach in the TV news, sports, programming and syndication space.

HMM was formed in 2004 but has operated for more than 35 years under a succession of different names, including Athletes & Artists, Marquee Group and SFX Media Group.

The takeover was sealed for an undisclosed sum.

Glantz said: “In the team at ICM, we found true partners with a shared vision in the way we conduct business and represent clients,” while Oppenheim added: “With this move to join ICM Partners, we’ll continue to provide hands-on, personal service, while drawing on the resources of the agency that extends our reach to opportunities in film, television, branding, publishing, live appearances and digital ventures.”

ICM founding partners Chris Silbermann and Ted Chervin said in a joint statement: “Lou and Michael have built an incredibly successful business representing clients at the forefront of sports and news broadcasting. Their client-first approach to representation perfectly aligns with the way we run our company.”
