Hulu ups Helman to head originals

Disney-owned US streamer Hulu has promoted Jordan Helman to head of originals.

Helman takes on the role following the departure of Beatrice Springborn last year to join Universal Content Productions as president.

Helman will oversee drama, comedy, animation, limited series and international coproductions, as well as Hulu’s current slate which includes the upcoming Lily James-starring miniseries Pam & Tommy.

Helman has worked at the streamer since 2015 as head of drama, spearheading series such as The Handmaid’s Tale, The Act and Castle Rock. His replacement has yet to be announcement.

Before joining Hulu, Helman was VP of scripted programming at SundanceTV, where he worked on projects including Top of the Lake and The Honorable Woman.
