Hulu shops at new Vice sales house

Disney-owned US streamer Hulu has picked up 100 hours of original Vice Media Group content from the youth skewing media brand’s newly launched distribution division.

The deal includes both seasons of Dark Side of the Ring, as well as new and past seasons of series including F*ck That’s Delicious, Bong Appetit, Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia and Weediquette. The deal was negotiated on behalf of Vice Media by Bea Hegedus, Morgan Hertzan, and Jason Guberman.

This is the first deal to be announced since the launch of Vice Distribution in July and extends a partnership between Vice TV and Hulu with the launch of Vice TV on Hulu’s live streaming service.

In July, Vice announced the launch of a new global distribution and licensing group, headed by Hegedus, to maximise the value of Vice Media’s IP including programming from Vice TV.

Hegedus, senior VP and global head of distribution at Vice Studios, said: “I am delighted that this new deal continues our successful and long-standing partnership with Hulu, home to some of the best content in the US and around the world, which will see a collection of compelling, unique and provocative programming from Vice TV reach millions of subscribers.”
