Hulu hires Warner Horizon exec

US video-streamer Hulu has appointed former Warner Horizon exec Craig Erwich to lead its content and programming strategy.

Erwich, who recently exited his post as exec VP of Warner Horizon Television, will take on the role of senior VP and head of content for Hulu and Hulu Plus from April 7.

Erwich comes to Hulu following a six-year stint at Warner Horizon Television, the Warner Bros unit behind shows including ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, A&E’s Longmire, and TNT’s Dallas.

Prior to this, he spent 12 years at US network Fox – joint owner of Hulu.

Erwich is the latest in a string of appointments by Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins since he took the helm last October, replacing Andy Forssell, who was acting CEO and the company’s original content chief.

Last month, Hulu hired Disney exec Tim Connolly as head of distribution.

In February, Tian Lim came in as chief technology officer and NBC veteran Peter Naylor as senior VP of sales. In October last year, Hopkins appointed Disney exec Elaine Paul as chief financial officer.

Hulu recently decided to sell its Japanese SVoD service to Nippon Television Network, less than three years after launching in the East Asian country.
