Hulu, ABC set Staged again

US SVoD service Hulu and Australian pubcaster the ABC have picked up the second season of UK comedy series Staged.

The 8×22’ season is distributed by the UK’s Rainmaker Content, which launched last year, and produced by UK prodcos Infinity Hill and GCB Films.

Starring David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Michael Sheen (Good Omens), Staged follows the fictional cast of a play trying to rehearse virtually during lockdown. The show will also launch on streamer BritBox in the UK later this month.

As well as the renewal deals with Hulu and the ABC, several global networks have picked up seasons one and two of Staged for the first time.

Canal+ France, DirecTV Latin America, BBC UKTV New Zealand, HOT Israel, Canal+ Poland and Russian Report have all acquired the first two seasons.
