Hopster joins in Icelandic Play

Subscription preschool TV and learning app Hopster has agreed a deal to bring localised children’s content to Iceland.

The UK-based firm has struck a carriage agreement with Vodafone Iceland that will see Hopster join the mobile and IPTV provider’s SVoD service Vodafone Play.

The move means Hopster is now available via all three Vodafone Play services in Iceland: Vodafone Play, Vodafone Play M and Vodafone Play L.

Shows including Thomas & Friends, Pingu and Bob the Builder will be available in Icelandic, in addition to some national nursery rhymes.

Hopster has also been working on the localisation of other hit shows, including Max & Ruby, Wanda & the Alien and Peg + Cat, which will also premiere on the Vodafone Play subs service.

Vodafone has been investing in cross-platform video services for the past eight months and launched Vodafone Play in April 2015.

The accompanying mobile app is in the works and will launch in Iceland early 2016.
