The launch will see the app arrive in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, India, Dubai and many more countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe.

This comes after the company recently completed a multi-million-pound funding round to fuel further growth.

It has also signed various multi-territory content deals for a total of 600 episodes with distributors such as Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, Millimages in France, Cake Entertainment in the UK and Norwegian firm EarthTree Media.

Animated series acquired in these deals include Max & Ruby, Mouk, Louie, Babar, Wanda and the Alien and Poppy Cat.

The global version of Hopster will launch initially on iOS, with country-specific price points to be confirmed. Further content partners will also be announced closer to launch.

“All over the world, a new generation of kids is finding things to delight them on mobile. In India alone, more families have smartphones than digital TV, so there’s huge potential for a mobile-first service like Hopster,” said Nick Walters, founder and CEO of the company.

Since launching in 2013, the Hopster app has been downloaded by more than 265,000 users in the UK. To hear more from Walters in an exclusive interview with C21, click here.
