Hoho Entertainment serves up German YouTube channel for Shane the Chef

Shane the Chef airs on Channel 5’s Milkshake! in the UK

London-based Hoho Entertainment has launched a German YouTube channel for preschool show Shane the Chef.

Titled Shane der Koch, the new channel has been funded by a grant from the UK Global Screen Fund.

Like its English-language counterpart, which is available globally, the new channel features episodes and shortform content from the CGI animated series, which aims to enthuse young children and carers with a love of fresh, healthy food and cooking.

Hoho is currently producing live-action content to complement the original series and invite kids to get busy in the kitchen.

In Shane the Chef, which airs on Paramount-owned Channel 5’s Milkshake! in the UK, energetic chef Shane and his young daughter run a restaurant in the town of Munchington. Every day is a recipe for adventure, whether they are tracking down suspected aliens or surfing a giant baguette through the town.

The series first screened in the UK in 2018 and has since been sold to broadcasters across Europe. It was created by Andrew Wildman and Simon Jowett and produced by Hoho and Cardiff-based Cloth Cat Animation, with the support of the Creative Europe Programme MEDIA.
