Hit’s Little People grow abroad

MIPCOM: Channels in Europe, Latin America and Africa have acquired the Hit Entertainment-produced preschool series based on the Fisher-Price toy franchise Little People.

Turner Broadcasting’s Cartoonito, TV Cultura in Brazil, Televisa in Mexico, Discovery Kids in Latin America and E-TV in South Africa will air the CGI-animated 52×11′ series next year.

The production is the first collaboration between Hit and Fisher-Price on one of the latter’s brands since Hit was acquired by Fisher Price’s parent company Mattel in 2012.

Hit says the series will focus on the power of imagination and group play, covering themes such as working together, empathy and sharing alongside catchy songs.

The Little People brand first appeared more than 50 years ago and is currently available in more than 60 countries.
