High Point picks up more Belgian drama

UK distributor High Point Films & TV is building its slate of Belgian drama, picking up the ex-Benelux rights for two titles from Brussels-based prodco MMG.

High Point has picked up Flikken (78×50′), Belgium’s answer to US cop show Cagney & Lacey. The cop show follows the adventures of a female crime-busting duo in the city of Ghent.

According to High Point, the show is one of the longest-running series in the Benelux, with audience shares of 50%. The second MMG drama, Storm Force (23×50′) is an action rescue drama series, which follows the adventures of a helicopter search and rescue team.

High Point co-founder, Ronald de Neef commented: “MMG is one of the most impressive production companies around, with a truly enviable track record of hits.” High Point will be launching the both series at Mipcom in October, alongside Matrioshki, which airs on VTM Belgium and Canal Plus.
